Imagine Motherwell - An update

We are sad to report that the initial momentum and consensus among partners and interested parties to work together with the aim of seeing our Town Centre reinvented and made fit for the 21st Century has stalled of late. News of CALA's decision to off load the Town Centre, the refurbishment of the Train Station and possible downgrading of this facility are big blows and present particular difficulties for the Town, but in adversity there is opportunity. The saying has it that "Rome was not built in a Day" but it didn't take Emperor Nero long to realise that it is much easier to destroy than build. Yet in spite of the current economic climate, The Forum remains committed to working to see the Town Centre retained/reinvented and improved on.

Health

Motherwell Community Forum works closely with NHS Lanarkshire to look at ways to ensure that the delivery of health services in the area match the community's needs, more especially in hard-to-reach communities and groups.

With the aid of funding from NHS Lanarkshire, we've been involved in a number of projects and events targeted at communities and areas that traditionally have not been involved with either the forum or other services.
